Which Room to Choose at The Delano Hotel MiamiFrom Bungalows and Penthouses to Guest Rooms in a Top Florida Hotel
Visitors don't have to stay at the Delano Hotel to enjoy the restaurants, spa or pool, but for those who do, there is a range of luxury rooms to choose from.
The Delano Hotel in South Beach, Miami, has a reputation for being one of the best hotels in Florida. A place where visitors mingle with Miami’s beautiful people by the pool and in the popular restaurants. While some have to head home or to other hotels at the end of the night, for others, it’s a short journey to their room in The Delano. Those who have chosen to stay at The Delano have a range of options to choose from, including the famous poolside bungalows, the guest rooms, lofts, suites, and of course the penthouse. The landmark Ian Schrager hotel was designed by Philippe Starck, and since opening in the 1990s has undergone two renovations in 2006 and 2007. Delano Hotel Room Renovations Keep Starck White On WhiteWhen it came time to update the Delano, Morgans Hotel Group called on Tim Andreas of the award-winning boutique architecture and interior design firm Banjo. Tim Andreas has also made his mark on Schrager’s Shore Club in Miami and The Mondrian in Los Angeles. Tim Andreas told The Design Book that while it was management’s decision to keep the white on white concept in the guest rooms, it was a decision he agreed with. “The Delano room is an icon. It was really the first all white hotel room. It inspired so many imitators, not just in the hospitality field. I think you could even argue that Pottery Barn wouldn't exist without the Delano room.” The Delano Hotel’s Guest RoomsAt 350 square feet, the Delano’s Standard Guest Rooms have been criticised for being on the small side, and guests who want more room to move – and a balcony to soak up the ocean air on – would be better suited in one of the larger one bedroom suites. Described by the hotel as “models of modern simplicity”, the rooms include all the usual mod cons, such as full cable television and wireless high-speed internet access, 24 hour concierge and room service. Mirror glazed, brilliant white wide-plank wood floors can be found in each of the rooms, with an extra layer of insulation underfoot for guests' privacy, not to mention the peace and quiet for those below. Those who have enjoyed Miami’s nightlife will also appreciate the fact that rooms come with blackout screens so they can control what time they’re prepared to face Miami’s brilliant sunshine. The Delano Hotel Bungalows are a Popular Place to Stay Beside the PoolThe emphasis on “barefoot chic” continues in the famous Delano Hotel Bungalows, which at 870 square feet are the largest and most popular rooms in the hotel. The Bungalows feature a private patio, rainfall showers, oversized marble soaking tub, full dining room table and wet bar. When guests are ready to splash out, the hotel pool is just steps away, as is the hotel’s private piece of South Beach. As the Delano pool turns into a popular drinking spot, complete with live DJs at night, those who prefer peace and quiet may find the party atmosphere on their doorstep a little bit much. But for those who want to savour the Miami nightlife, the Bungalows offer the chance to go from their hotel room to one of South Beaches’ top bars in one easy step. The Delano Hotel’s Penthouse and Apartment Offer South Beach LuxuryIf money is no object, the Delano Hotel’s Penthouse or Apartment could be the place to stay. Situated on the top two floors of the hotel, the Penthouse and Apartment are considered The Delano’s crème de la crème. The Penthouse is situated on the top floor, and is described by the hotel as an “oasis of calm and ease” which “perfectly embodies the unique Delano experience.” The Delano Penthouse has large bedrooms, bathrooms crafted from imported Italian marble, complete with enormous marble soaking tub, a walk in wet bar, dining area, and private balcony to soak up the Miami sunshine. The Apartment, just one floor below the Penthouse, also features generous spaces, custom Starck-designed furniture, marble bathrooms, a private terrace and the almost trademark billowing white curtains. Both the Delano’s Penthouse and Apartment are popular to hire for private functions. How Much Does it Cost to Stay at the Delano? The Delano Hotel, South Beach, Miami has earned a spot on the Miami To Do List whether visitors wish to stay at the hotel, or simply enjoy a cocktail or two by the pool. Depending on when visitors plan to stay and which room they would prefer to call home for the holidays, prices range from US$300 to US$6000 a night.
