Where to Eat Cheap in Disney WorldHelpful Hints Regarding WDW's Less Expensive Eateries
When vacationing at Walt Disney World, you have many options when it comes to food. Here are some helpful tips about where the best family-friendly fare can be found.
The Magic Kindom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT all feature low-key options that are convenient for families. These places tend to serve things like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, and simple salads for even the pickiest children, as well as slightly more exotic items for older visitors. The following is a brief guide to some of the best places to go for family-friendly fare. Virtually all of the items served at the following locations cost under $10. The Magic Kingdom The Magic Kingdom features some of the best inexpensive food options. Whether grabbing something to go or hunkering down for a meal, The Magic Kingdom has it all. Casey’s Corner on Main Street is a good quick-stop option, offering tasty baseball-related foods like hot dogs, French fries, and peanuts. If you'd rather sit for a bit, try Pinocchio's Village Haus in Fantasyland, which offers cute Pinocchio-themed décor and serves personal-sized pizzas, salads, and cheese fries, among other things. Or try Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland, which features an anamatronic band of instrument-playing aliens and serves sandwiches, salads, wraps, and rotisserie chicken meals. Slightly more expensive (although still featuring entrees under $10) is Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square. Set up to look like an old seaside tavern, Columbia Harbour House offers the standard chicken nuggets and salads, but also serves fried fish, clam chowder, and delicious sandwiches. For a snack, try The Enchanted Grove in Fantasyland, which serves cold refreshments like fruit juice and ice cream. Try a Strawberry Swirl, a yummy concoction of vanilla softserve and strawberry sherbet. Disney's Hollywood StudiosUnfortunately, Hollywood Studios does not offer as many low-cost, quality places to eat as The Magic Kingdom. However, there are some eateries that offer decent, inexpensive entrees and snacks. The ABC Commissary is lacking in the charming atmosphere department, but it serves quick, tasty items like cheeseburgers, Cuban sandwiches, and fried fish. Catalina Eddie's offers pizza, salads, and Italian deli sandwiches. And for young children, Toy Story's Pizza Planet is the place to be. The Toy Story-themed restaurant offers pizza and salad combinations for both children and adults. For snacks, The Writer's Stop is advisable for adults. Set up like a cozy coffee shop, The Writer's Stop serves Arabica-bean coffee, espresso, and other coffee drinks, as well as assorted cookies and pastries. EPCOTEPCOT's World Showcase offers a variety of exotic options from all over the world. Here are just a few of the best. For breakfast, stop by the Boulangerie Patisserie, located next to the Bistro de Paris in France. This bakery serves coffee cakes, croissants, French-style sandwiches, and delicious fruit tarts. For lunch, stop by Sommerfest in Germany for authentic German frankfurters, bratwurst, and sauerkraut. And Yakitori House in Japan serves great Japanese food, including sushi combinations and teriyaki chicken. These are only a few of the best family-friendly eateries.
