Epcot and The Magic Kingdom are not just for little kids. There are plenty of exciting attractions for teenagers at these parks.
Families with teenagers may be taking them along for the ride as they vacation in Walt Disney World. However, many teens may be less than thrilled about the trip. Teens that have never been to Disney World may see Epcot as a “learning” theme-park and the Magic Kingdom as a place for little kids. However, Epcot and the Magic Kingdom are filled with attractions and activities for all members of the family. Disney's Epcot RidesSeen as the scientific hub of Disney’s theme-parks, the idea of Epcot can be boring to teenagers. However, Epcot is far from a mere science lesson. It has rides and attractions that are out of this world. Mission SPACE blasts guests off on an adventure to Mars. Teens who dream of space travel, can become astronauts for a few minutes on a simulated space journey. NASA advisors, astronauts and scientists worked with Disney Imagineers to create this gut-churning attraction that replicates actual space travel. If teens are more into adventures on Earth, they can motor over to Test Track. Here guests become living test dummies, undergoing trials put together for a standard auto test. From environmental tests to a high-speed test that flings the rider 65-miles per hour on a 50-degree curve, teenagers are sure to enjoy this road trip. Teens who dream of hand gliding, but have parents who won’t sign the release forms can live their dream on Soarin’. This ride takes guests on a whirlwind journey across California’s scenic locations. Motion base technology allows riders to free-fly over Napa, The Redwoods, Los Angeles and many more locations. Teens will enjoy two vacation locations in just one trip! Magic Kingdom RidesMany teenagers think that the Magic Kingdom is only for their little brother or sister. While there are plenty of rides for the younger set, there are a few thrill rides that can speed up the heart rate of any rider. All of the “mountains” at the Magic Kingdom offer excitement for anyone over 44 inches tall. Frontierland is home to two of the Magic Kingdom’s mountains. Splash Mountain brings riders to the Deep South, home of Brer Rabbit and his friends. When the vagabond rabbit decides to leave home he is hunted by Brer Fox and Brer Bear. Riders join Brer Rabbit as he escapes, splashing down a five-story drop into the briar patch below. Riders will get wet! Next door to Splash Mountain is Big Thunder Mountain, home of the wildest ride in the wilderness! Modeled after a runaway train, riders twist and turn on this roller coaster’s tracks. Yee-Haw! Perhaps the most famous of Disney World’s roller coasters is Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. This ride is also the most popular at the Magic Kingdom amongst the teenage and preteen age group. This coaster rockets riders past shooting stars, and plummets them down hills while keeping the guests immersed in out-of-this world darkness.
