Couples looking to create romance, pop the question or get hitched can find what their hearts desire at Walt Disney World.

Walt Disney World is bursting with fun and fantasy. It can also be full of fairytale romance for lucky lovers. Couples making the trip with the intention to get engaged or hitched have plenty of options to make their vacations memorable.

Creating Romance in Disney World Without Spending Money

With all the money spent on the ring, the ceremony and the park tickets, many duos are looking to tighten their purse strings. At Disney World they don't need to go out to lavish restaurant to create romance. Here are five ways couples can feel the love without spending extra cash.

  • In Epcot, during Illuminations, the United Kingdom pavilion will most likely be deserted while the rest of the guests watch the show from better viewing areas. Lovers can have the entire garden to themselves while listening to the show’s music in the distance.
  • A moonlight stroll around the Boardwalk Resort is great once the crowds thin out. Sweethearts can loop around Crescent Lake towards the Beach and Yacht Clubs. Here they can enjoy an evening under the stars while writing their names in the sand.
  • When the Animal Kingdom opens in the morning, most people run to Expedition Everest or Kilimanjaro Safaris. To beat the crowds couples can opt to stroll through Pangani Forest Exploration Trail or the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Instead of sharing this space with crowds they will share their love with the gorillas and tigers.
  • Port Orleans Riverside Resort brings guests back to easier and lazier days. A wonderful walking/jogging path winds along the banks of the Sassagoula River (a Disney-made body of water). Lovers who are tired can simply hop on the free riverboat that departs for Port Orleans French Quarter or Downtown Disney.
  • The Polynesian Resort is an ideal spot for romance. Swinging on a hammock on the beach of the Seven Seas Lagoon is lovely in the evening. If the trip is timed perfectly, couples can catch glimpses of Wishes or the Electrical Water Pageant.

Proposing in Walt Disney World

Men can find many lovely and intimate locations around Disney World to pop the question to their lucky lady. Beaches and restaurants serve as romantic venues to ask for her hand, and cast members will be happy to help with the pursuit. Future husbands looking for something off the beaten path can follow these five creative options.

  • During the afternoon parade when Toon Town is less crowded, the Toon Town Hall of Fame is the place to be. A sneaky boyfriend can ask the character greeters for a private meeting with the princesses. Snow White, Cinderella and Princess Aurora will gush over his new fiancée’s ring.
  • For something off the beaten path, couples can take the boat to Tom Sawyer’s Island. A great secluded area to get down on one knee is by the rocking chairs at Aunt Polly’s restaurant. The Island is emptier early in the day and right before it closes.
  • For a beautiful and more private option, a boyfriend can order the “Princess Dream Come True” package to his hotel room. It comes with a single red rose, tiara, bracelet, framed letter from a Disney princess and a glass slipper. He can place the ring in the slipper and then see if the shoe fits.
  • Spaceship Earth's lines are usually short in the mid-afternoon. A private vehicle can be requested from the cast members working the attraction. Just before arriving in the room that features Earth glowing beneath the stars, a man can tell his girlfriend he’d like to give her the world and have her be part of his forever.
  • Disney World has plenty of pixies and they are happy to help! Gifts of a Lifetime will set up a magical experience designed especially for the lucky lady. If she’s a Star Wars fan, Darth Vader can make a surprise appearance. If she’s always wanted to travel to Morocco, a special tour of the pavilion in Epcot can be arranged. Rings can easily be placed inside a slice of baklava!

Disney Fairytale Weddings

For many, some of their most beloved childhood memories are seeing Cinderella’s Castle for the first time, or escaping to a different country in Epcot. Disney can incorporate the happiest day of a couple's life with their happiest memory.

Whether it's exchanging vows with Cinderella’s Castle in the distance, saying “I do” near a Japanese Garden, or becoming husband and wife on a nostalgic boardwalk, Fairy Tale Weddings can make those dreams come true.

Ceremony options include gazebos and ballrooms at the Yacht Club and the Boardwalk Resort or The Grand Floridian’s Wedding Pavilion, with a view of the castle in the background. To get closer to the park, there is an option to book an intimate gathering at the Magic Kingdom’s Swan Boat Landing located at the foot of the castle (50 guests maximum). The World Showcase in Epcot also has many places in their pavilions to tie the knot.

Disney brings out the inner child. Guests who are engaged, are getting married or are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary can easily feel like they're falling in love all over again. For proof that Disney's love is timeless, guests only have to look at Mickey and Minnie. They’re been together since 1928!
