A new-build, high-rise property, EPIC Hotel has a premier spot on the edge of the Miami River and Biscane Bay. The Kimpton property has 411 rooms and a private marina.

EPIC Hotel opened its doors in December 2008 and has since wowed guests with its elliptical-shaped building on the edge of the water. With 54 floors, the luxury Miami hotel has amazing views of the city and the bay from its 411 guestrooms and suites. Here are just a few highlights of the new property:

From the standard rooms to the one-bedroom suites to the ultimate corner Presidential Style Suites, amenities include custom furnishings, fine fabrics, triple sheeting on the beds, high-end bath amenities from Acqua di Parma and flat-screen televisions. Room service is available 24 hours a day and housekeeping visits twice daily. The EPIC Hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats in some rooms, so feel free to bring Fido along.

Upscale Amenities at EPIC Hotel

Guest can enjoy pampering services at Exhale full-service spa after working out at the 24-hour on-site fitness center with keyed access. For yoga enthusiasts who would like practice in their own guest room, they can flip on the on-demand yoga, Pilates and meditations on TV, and there's a basket of yoga accessories available for complimentary use.

Meet other guests at the hosted "Evening Wine Hour" nightly in the Living Room lobby. Wireless Internet is available in guestrooms for $10/day, but it's free for members of the Kimpton In Touch loyalty program (joining is free, so clearly worth it if you want to use your laptop in the room). Shoe shine service is complimentary to all guests, as is free morning coffee, tea and newspaper in the lobby.

Families are welcomed at the EPIC Hotel with cribs available for complimentary use. On-site restaurants offer high chairs and booster seats (or have one delivered to your room for in-room dining). Thoughtful in-room safety kits include outlet covers, toilet latches and nightlights. Older kids get a special welcome backpack filled with little toys and they can borrow child-size Frette robes. (Note to parents: The Miami Children's Museum is a short 3 miles away from the EPIC Hotel.)

Fabulous Rooftop Pool Deck Is the Place to See and Be Seen

The 14,000-square-foot, wrap-around deck on the 16th floor of the EPIC Hotel oozes coolness. Relax on one of the comfy day beds next to one of two infinity pools. Or rent a private cabana to stay shaded from the Florida sun; prices start at $100 for daytime use of a "deluxe cabana" until 4 p.m.

After dark, guests gather to admire the city's twinkling lights and relax at the rooftop bar with cocktails, including the signature EPIC Sunset, created with Belvedere Pomarancza, Grand Marnier, Campari and passion fruit. Also adjacent -- with seating extending poolside -- is the upscale Area 31 restaurant. Its menu focuses on seafood with Mediterranean influences.
