Families on a budget can stay in Fort Lauderdale hotels for under $160 per night with amenities such as luxurious linens, a heated pool, a hot breakfast and beach access.
Finding inexpensive Fort Lauderdale hotels that are family-friendly, in a convenient location, and also have luxurious linens is not easy. Here are a few options that have features and amenities that are usually reserved for luxury hotels.
Inexpensive Hotel on Fort Lauderdale Beach: Bahia Mar Beach Resort
- Rooms – Although this hotel is more than 50 years old, the generously sized rooms have been refurbished and modernized.
- Location – (801 Seabreeze Blvd.) The resort is two blocks from Las Olas Blvd and conveniently located on the Intracoastal Waterway (it’s also on the water taxi route) and across from the beach.
- Beach and Pool Facilities – There is a heated outdoor pool and poolside snack bar serving sandwiches, wraps, and drinks. Guests can cross overtop the busy A1A via the hotel skywalk that spans above the street from the hotel pool area directly onto the beach.
- Extra Costs – There is no coin laundry and internet access is available for $9.95 per day. And for those that have a car, the cost to park is $18 per night.
- Room Rates – In the low season, rooms start at $129 a night. But high season rates are also moderate, starting at $239 with a $50 credit if two consecutive nights are booked. (Contact: 888-802-2442).
Family Hotel Near Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port: Embassy Suites
- Rooms – These spacious two room suites have two queen beds in a separate bedroom and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. There is also a fridge, sink, and dining table, and 32” flat screen TVs in each room. Enjoy the complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast each morning and a complimentary manager’s reception each evening.
- Location – (1100 SE 17th Street) Behind the hotel there is the Harbor Shops shopping mall.
- Beach and Pool Facilities – Lounge by the outdoor heated pool with poolside dining for lunch and dinner. And although the hotel is not on the beach, guests can take the Sun Trolley ($1 per person) from behind the hotel by the Publix Store.
- Extra Costs – There are coin laundry machines on a couple of different floors. Internet access is available for $9.95 per day. And those that have a car, the cost to park is $13 per night.
- Room Rates – In the low season, rooms start at $159 per night. During the high season, book the Family Suite Retreat, starting at $209 per night. Or for guests taking a cruise and need to park their car for the duration, the Park and Cruise rate starts at $229. (Contact: 954-527-2700)
Inexpensive Hotel Close to Cruise Port: Holiday Inn Express
- Rooms – The rooms have upgraded linens that feature triple sheeting and four pillows per bed. The hotel also offers a complimentary hot breakfast bar that includes scrambled eggs, bacon, cereals and juices.
- Location – (1150 W. State Rd 84) It is conveniently located near the FLL airport and the cruise port and the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle service.
- Beach and Pool Facilities – Although the beach is about 4 miles from the hotel, there is an onsite heated pool.
- Extra Costs – The hotel offers free in room internet and there are coin laundry machines available. It’s free to park the same night as the stay, but they charge $10 per night for guests that want to park and cruise.

Although these hotels have great rates already, guests can expect even lower prices if they book early and take advantage of discounts such as an AAA membership card. For those that want to spend a little extra, there are hotels and resorts with activities for kids.
