Looking for a new vacation idea? You'd be surprised at what Mickey and Friends have to offer adults planning a vacation without the kids.

Let’s face it: when we think about Disney World, we think about those annual family vacations long gone when we packed up the kids and made a trek to Orlando. We have photo albums packed to the brim with pictures to document every ride we experienced and every hug we endured from those costumed characters. But now that the kids are gone and it’s just the two of you looking to share a romantic adults-only vacation, it’s time once again to consider Disney World as the place to make your grown up-size dreams come true!

It’s Not All About the Rides

If you haven’t been to Walt Disney World since the kids were in diapers, you are in for a treat. There are plenty of new attractions that cater to adults:

Downtown Disney. Downtown Disney has a mix of everything a vacationing couple could ask for. It mixes entertainment, fine dining, and shopping all in one convenient area. Downtown Disney boasts the fun-filled Pleasure Island where you can dance away the night at one of several themed dance clubs or have a laugh at one of their two comedy clubs. At Downtown Disney you will also find The House of Blues if listening to live music is more your thing, and DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, if you are into state-of-the-art entertainment. And don’t forget to check out Cirque de Soliel’s La Nouba, Downtown Disney’s exciting acrobatic and eclectic live theatrical spectacular.
Disney’s Board Walk. Disney’s Board Walk is another great nighttime hotspot for those couples looking for a little extra vacation fun. It blends entertainment, dining and shopping in a seaside atmosphere, reminiscent of Atlantic City. You’ll find a night club right on the pier where you can dance away your cares, a sing-along club where you can belt out your favorites and the ESPN Club where you can watch the latest game and have a drink or two.

Romance and Relaxation

Looking to rekindle the fire in your relationship? Want to watch your stress melt away? Disney World offers something for the romantics and bliss-seekers alike. There are numerous fine-dining options that cater to your grown up tastes and offer you a romantic ambiance. Disney World also boasts some of the most world-renown spa services, which are conveniently located in many of the resorts. There are also spa services tailored for couples-only such as the Couples Instructional Massage, Couples Relaxation Package and the Grand Romantic Evening.

So this year, why not take another look at what Walt Disney World has to offer the vacationing adult couple? You’ll be glad you did.
